Presales Engineer (US / UK / DE / CH Remote)

Job Role Overview

We are looking for a dynamic, high-performing Presales Engineer with experience selling technology and related services to enterprise organizations. You will be responsible for assisting the Sales organization in various technical aspects of the sales motion, overall strategy and achieving business targets. The ideal candidate has a history of technical excellence, gaining the trust of clients and loves the challenges that come with working complex enterprise opportunities.   

Job Responsibilities 

  • Develop an understanding of the needs of Cloudficient’s clients to maximize value to both organizations 
  • Responsible for all aspects of the technical sales process in closing opportunities across Cloudficient’s technology stack 
  • Support technical qualifications of new opportunities 
  • Lead technical presentations for potential clients 
  • Lead Security Reviews and Vendor Assessments 
  • Lead POC (Proof of Concept) activities to conclusion 
  • Act as an SME across Cloudficient products and services, transfer knowledge as required 
  • Prepare Statements of Work (SOWs) as needed for standard and custom opportunities 
  • Maintain reliable data in CRM to capture client business needs and desired outcomes 
  • Successfully transition closed opportunities to our Delivery organization 
  • Provide technical training to partners  
  • Contribute to sales and marketing collateral (data sheets, blogs, gated content) 
  • Building relationships with client’s technical staff 

Job Skills & Specifications


  • Bachelor's Degree 
  • At least 3 years of experience as a sales engineer or solution architect in a related field 
  • Experience with one or more of the following: 
    • Email archiving solutions and/or archive migration solutions 
    • Microsoft M365 – either operational or strong general knowledge 
    • Presenting and demonstrating SaaS solutions 
    • eDiscovery products or solutions for the legal market 
  • Experience selling to business/enterprise customers with a consultative, value-based approach 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Great presentation skills  
  • Strong organizational and time management skills 
  • Willingness to work flexible hours to cater to our global workforce 
  • Self-motivated with and a passion for customer success 
  • Ability to estimate project timelines based on various dependencies and assumptions 
  • General technical skills including: email management, networking, firewalls, Windows Server platforms, storage subsystems, software installation and troubleshooting, eDiscovery concepts 
  • Experience with Cloudficient technologies a plus 
  • Experience using a CRM, knowledge of HubSpot a plus
